Global 3D and visual technology company, RealD Inc and Wanda Cinema Line Co., Ltd. announced on August 1 that the two parties have entered into the biggest cinema 3D installation agreement in history. As the working relationship between the two parties continues to grow, Wanda has committed to equipping a total of 5,600 theaters in China with RrealD's most advanced projection technology

In the agreement, the two parties agreed to install no less than 4,000 RealD 3D projection systems in Wanda's cinemas over the next four years. The partnership between RealD and Wanda began in 2010. Prior to the new agreement, Wanda had already installed RealD 3D technology in some 1,600 theaters around China.

This agreement will greatly expand the development of 3D technology in China and will further consolidate China's position as the world's most important 3D market. RealD is the leading 3D technology supplier in the world and has a dominant position in the market. It has currently equipped more than 28,000 screens with its 3D system worldwide. After the signing of the agreement, RealD technology will cover 72 countries and more than 32,000 screens globally.

In addition to expanding RealD technology installation bases in Wanda cinemas, RealD and Wanda are also committed to raising the projection quality of Wanda's cinemas. In 2014, RealD introduced a quality assurance and management program - the RealD 6FL Certification. Wanda Cinema Line is the first cinema chain in Asia to commit to participating in this quality assurance program.

RealD 6FL Certification means that certified cinemas are committed to showing 3D films in 6-foot Lamberts brightness, and are subject to regular quality checks to ensure the brightness and quality of 3D film projections.
