At the invitation of the government of India, Chairman Wang Jianlin attended a meeting with Prime Minister Modi and leading Chinese business leaders in Shanghai last May. After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi invited Chairman Wang to visit India at his earliest convenience. In June, 2015, Chairman Wang visited India, held talks with Prime Minister Modi, and announced he would make a significant investment in Haryana, India.
